The Budapest-based budget airline Wizz Air announced that they will launch two twice-weekly flights between Europe and Armenia since April. Wizz Air said it will initially fly to Yerevan from Vienna and Vilnius, and this is just the start! The other routes and destinations will be offered during 1 year!
Wizz Air is the second European low-cost airline that has decided to fly to Armenia. The Irish company Ryanair announced it in October that they will start flying to Yerevan from Milan and Rome in January and open two more routes next summer. The move was widely welcomed in Armenia. Based on government official prediction a significant drop in the cost of air travel and major boost in the sector of tourism are expected.
