EXHIBITION OF PARAJANOV'S WORKS IN ISTANBUL'S MUSEUM

An exhibition of works by world-renowned Armenian filmmaker and artist Sergei Parajanov opened for the first time in Turkey in Pera Museum in Istanbul. It is entitled "With Parajanov" and will last from December 13, 2018 to March 17, 2019.

The exhibition is being implemented thanks to the cooperation of Sergei Parajanov Museum in Yerevan and the Pera Museum in Istanbul. It is dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the talented master. At the exhibition are presented S. Paradjanov's various works, collages, paintings, ornaments, as well as scenic costumes, sketches of film episodes, photos, mosaics and etc.

Although Parajanov's collection has been featured in more than 30 cities around the world, this exhibition is unprecedented by the number of its exhibits and holds the title of the biggest. The director of Yerevan Parajanov’s Museum Zaven Sargsyan noted that this is the biggest exhibition organized outside the Parajanov Museum, the main goal of which is to present the artist's creative life in a city which inspired Parajanov during his visit in 1989. He also hopefully mentioned that the exhibition will boost the hearts of the two nations and will help them reach the rapprochement.
