On January 29, 2019 the Komitas sculpture was erected at Komitas Museum-Institute, the author of which is the National Artist of Armenia, sculptor David Yerevantsi. The solemn opening ceremony of the sculpture was dedicated to the great composer Komitas's 150th anniversary and the fourth anniversary of the museum’s foundation.
David Yerevantsi noted that Komitas's sculpture was assembled at Prague's international mold. The sculpted Komitas goes in a half-mood to death, relying on his national origins, the Armenian alphabet, the cross, the tree of eternity, which is praising our tomorrow's dawn. The child on the other side of the sculpture symbolizes the Komitas’s words: to pay attention to the children because they are the dawn of tomorrow and our hope.
