HOVHANNES TUMANYAN'S 150TH ANNIVERSARY

Yerevan Tumanyan's House-Museum on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the great Armenian poet will carry out various cultural programs throughout the whole year starting from February 19, 2019. Museum Director Narine Tukhikyan noted that they were preparing for Tumanyan's anniversary with great responsibility. She noted that the electronic version of Tumanyan's manuscript will be posted online on February 19, which can be downloaded and used in everyday life. The new logo of the house-museum is creating at the moment.

Thus, events on February 19 will be held not only inside the museum, but also outside, and fireworks will take place. Visitors to the museum will be on the path to delight and will appear in the fairy tale. They will meet Tumanyan as well as Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen, Alexander Pushkin and other great writers who will come to congratulate the writer's birthday.

And during the year, a book summarizing Tumanyan's multi-genre works will be translated English, Georgian, German and Persian languages and will be published. Also the animation tells about Tumanyan's life will be ready this year. The Olympiad will be held among schoolchildren from Armenia and Diaspora. A cartoon contest will be organized under the title "This is our Ohannes". The "Street art" program will begin in summer.

According to the deputy director of the museum Ani Yeghiazaryan, fashion week will also be held as "Tumanyan attached importance to taste and considered it to be the aroma of life." Within the framework of the fashion show, the dresses of Armenian intelligence living in Tiflis at the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries will be presented. Exhibitions will also be held in Moscow and Tbilisi.
